"SPIRIT OF '76"

The following artworks were submitted to me in 1976, to be included in a fanzine I produced at the time,

THE PORTABLE FANZINE. That year I created a special edition which also served as the Program Book

for the 1976 Underground Comics Convention hosted by Clay Geerdes in Berkeley, California.

Although I was scheduled to be a guest at the Convention, I was too drunk to get on the airplane

and had to send the 2,000 copies by Greyhound later that week, copies that were lovingly distributed

by Clay over the course of the year.

Although I have located Doug Hansen's contact info -- I have yet to determine who "Vincent" is.

So my belated thanks (and humble apologies for my negligence) to both artists

-- and please get in touch if you can identify Vincent!
